SCHIER SHOES

If you’re a fan of the desert boot (and if you’re not you should be), you should know about Schier Shoes. They’ve been making desert boots or “vellies” since 1938 in the costal village of Swakopmund in Nambia, Africa. They use only kudu leather from animals killed by government sanctioned culling to keep populations sustainable and the workshop consists of 8 artisans who only make 20 pairs a day. All their shoes are made to order.

My pair is already on the way and I had a great experience with their customer service. Head on over to their site to check them out.
