Background:
We had seen Eliza in a couple of photoshoots and were interested in doing a lakeside shoot so we pitched it to her and she liked the idea too. We got busy planning and sending ideas back and forth, we wanted to go for a quaintish country feel. We had a number of items we had stocked up that we were wanting to use, a long blue coat, a lantern and gumboots that we’d collected. We then got our excellent make up artist and hair stylist on board and chatted with them about the look we were going for. We struggled to decide on a location because many lakes were surrounded by residential area or didn’t have the look we were going for. We were eventually recommended Lake Samsonvale, and although none of us had been there we drove out and were amazed by the beauty of the lake and cemetery on it’s shore. The shoot was actually completed on two separate days because when we got to the second outfit it started pouring down rain and there was nothing in the area to hide undercover.
